About this puzzle
A field of painted planets floats through a glowing nebula. A blue and orange Earth-like sphere sits in the middle. A ringed planet glows below and a striped gas giant drifts to the right. Bright yellow light streams across the whole scene. It feels like the whole solar system is taking a slow group photo. The Cosmic Planets Drift Wooden Puzzle brings that scene to your table for a calm, rewarding build.
About This Design
This rectangular wooden puzzle shows a painted cosmos packed with planets of every size and colour. A vivid blue and purple world sits near the centre, with a striped orange giant beside it, and a ringed Saturn-like planet drifting below. A small green moon, a half-shadowed beige world, and several tiny stones scatter across the field. Behind them, the nebula glows in hot pink, deep magenta, golden yellow, and starlit blue. Look closer and you spot a spray of small white stars, a rust-coloured planet with two craters, a soft mint moon at the top left, and the soft pale ring around the Saturn-shape. The whole panel is painted like a watercolour vision of space. When you finish the puzzle, the planets feel like they are gently turning.
Why People Love the Cosmic Planets Drift Wooden Puzzle
Astronomy fans and curious kids alike pick this one up fast. There is something wonderful about a galaxy painted with this much warmth, and every planet feels like it has its own personality. The hidden whimsy pieces are themed to the scene: a small rocket, a tiny ringed planet, a single shooting star, and a painted comet are scattered through the build. Spotting them makes the assembly feel like a slow space mission. People who finish this one often gift it to a kid who keeps a telescope by the window.
Premium Craftsmanship in Every Piece
The Cosmic Planets Drift Wooden Puzzle is cut from 4mm basswood plywood, the same warm, light wood we use across our whole range. Basswood holds its shape over years and does not bend or fray the way cardboard does. Each piece is laser-cut, so the edges are crisp and the click between pieces is firm. The art is printed straight onto the wood with UV-cured inks, which means the bright nebula pinks and warm golden glows stay rich even in a sunny room. The puzzle ships in a sturdy gift box with a printed cover so it doubles as the storage between builds.

A Thoughtful Gift for Space And Science Fans
This wooden puzzle makes a great gift for kids who memorise planet names, science teachers, and adults who love a starry-eyed mood. It suits a birthday for a curious nephew, a graduation present for a science student, or a Christmas pick for a friend who keeps a star map on the wall. It looks at home in a study, a kid's bedroom, or above a desk where the bright cosmos can light up the work.
The Assembly Experience
The Cosmic Planets Drift is rated Level 3. The big blue and orange central planet is a natural place to start. From there the ringed Saturn-shape and striped gas giant break into satisfying medium-difficulty colour clusters. The slow finish is the painted nebula, where the soft pinks and golds blend together and take patience to sort. Most builders finish the Small in one focused sitting, the Medium across a weekend or two, and the Large over several relaxed evenings. A full-colour reference poster ships in the box, which helps when the bright nebula pieces start to look alike.
How to Display or Store It
When the last piece clicks in, slide a thin sheet of card under the panel and lift it as one rectangle. A slim black or deep navy frame suits the cosmic palette best. It looks at home in a study, a teen bedroom, or above a desk where the colours hum next to a small reading lamp.
CRAFTED IN WOOD
Slow down. Piece by piece.
Every Opus Puzzles wooden puzzle is laser-cut from premium basswood. Irregular edges and whimsy pieces make it a richer challenge than cardboard, and four sizes let you pick a quick win or a slower evening's project. When you're finished, it's ready to display, not stashed back in the box.
